My name is Mike Zalewski and I serve the west and southwest suburbs in the Illinois House of Representatives.
It’s an honor to serve in the General Assembly and work on behalf of my constituents on the many issues that are important to our community. I entered public service because I was starting my own family with my wife Carrie and began to think about what kind of state my children would inherit. These are difficult times in government as we are working to clean up the mistakes of the past and get Illinois back on track.
I work to make a real difference in Springfield: improving our schools so our kids get the world-class education they need and deserve; toughen penalties on criminals and ensure our prison system has the means and direction to keep our streets safe; create an environment that welcomes existing and new businesses so my kids have job opportunities right here when they grow older; and build on the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
I try hard to talk about the issues in a comprehensive, sincere way. Too often, our public discourse is about sound bites, insults and partisanship instead of the constructive, informed dialogue that will move our state in a more prosperous direction.
But that conversation needs you. Hearing from you on these issues helps me be a better, more informed and more responsive representative. My door is always open to you to help you access resources or to hear your thoughts and concerns about a particular issue. Please contact us by clicking here. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
