Dear Friends,

My name is Mike Zalewski and I serve the west and southwest suburbs in the Illinois House of Representatives.

It’s an honor to serve in the General Assembly and work on behalf of my constituents on the many issues that are important to our community. I entered public service because I was starting my own family with my wife Carrie and began to think about what kind of state my children would inherit. These are difficult times in government as we are working to clean up the mistakes of the past and get Illinois back on track.

I wanted to have a voice in improving our schools so our kids get the world-class education they will need. I wanted to use my knowledge of the law to toughen penalties on gang members and keep guns off of our streets so our neighborhoods are safe for my daughter and her friends to play on the streets. I wanted to do what was necessary to keep employers here in Illinois and attract new businesses so she would have job opportunities in the future. Most importantly I want to do my part to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

On this site, you will find my detailed positions on many issues. Too often, our public discourse has been diluted down to sound bites and insults rather than the constructive dialogue we need to right the ship and move our state in the proper direction. I hope you find this information useful.

Like all elected officials, I benefit from public feedback. You’re involvement in the process helps me to be a better representative. My door is always open to you to help you access resources or to hear your thoughts and concerns about a particular issue. Please contact us by clicking here. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
